Digital accessibility
Digital teaching materials and learning environments can make studying and teaching more accessible for everyone. However, numerous barriers still make it difficult to use them with assistive technology. Many teaching materials are not barrier-free. DoBuS advises and supports students with impairments to be able to study barrier-free and with the appropriate assistive technologies and working techniques. DoBuS advises employees of TU Dortmund University on how to make their learning environments and materials accessible. Already in the phase of conception and acquisition of e-learning applications and software it is a matter of meeting the requirements for accessibility.
DoBuS implements study materials from lectures and seminars as well as examination materials for students with sensory impairments in an accessible manner. This service can be used individually for students with corresponding needs.
DoBuS operates a workroom with disability-specific equipped PCs and aids, where students with disabilities can work scientifically. They can also write exams there. Portable aids can also be borrowed by teachers for students attending their courses.
